Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus is incredibly common, affecting around 5% of people in the UK. It is a complex condition with both acute and chronic complications. For these reasons, it is something every medical student should know about and it is likely to come up in exam situations.

This section covers the background of chronic diabetes, it’s clinical features, investigation, and treatment. It then separately considers the acute and chronic complications of diabetes.

I have also included a section detailing some of the key clinical skills that you may be expected to be examined upon in your medical finals.
