- Skin
- Dense Connective tissue (fascia)
- Epicranial Aponeurosis (galea aponeurotica)
- Extends from the nuchal line to its merging with the occipitofrontalis
- Continuous with several muscles of the face
- Loose connective tissue – metabolic support
- Pericranium
- Injury to the scalp is important
- Accumulation of fluid => Inflammation
- No deep fascia in face means that laceration through aponeurosis causes gaping wounds
